It’s Official! The Campaign to Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol Will be on the Ballot

The first step to legalizing adult-use marijuana in Arizona is complete as the Campaign to Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol (CRMLA) officially qualified for the November ballot! State officials notified the campaign yesterday that well over the required number of valid signatures have been submitted. CRMLA will officially kick off the “Yes to 205” campaign following this morning’s news conference in Phoenix.

The Initiative will appear on the November 2016 ballot as Proposition 205. It is now up to the citizens of Arizona to determine if we end this archaic way of thinking that marijuana is as dangerous as heroin when studies have proven that it is objectively safer than alcohol. We have been granted the opportunity to take power from black market cartels who continuously inflict damage and capitalize on an illegal market.

Studies have shown Arizonans have access to marijuana already through the black market. Why not re-allocate those millions of dollars to our educational system through taxes generated as part of a safe and regulated market?
