Previous Attorney General Announces Belief That Marijuana Should be Rescheduled

In a recent PBS “Frontline” interview, former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder announced his belief that marijuana should no longer be a Schedule 1 substance. His main argument for reclassification entailed our treatment of marijuana in the same way that we treat heroin, due to both substances currently being in the same category. Rescheduling marijuana would allow for more research opportunities on medical benefits from use as well. 

More and more political figures showing public acknowledgement that there is a flaw in our classification system. We hope that this conversation will become more prominent in the future.
